April, 15 A very, very black day in the history of Paris, France and the world: Notre-Dame-de-Paris is severly damaged by a great fire. Fortunately, the great orgue seems preserved, but the choir organ is badly damaged. April, 6/7 Inauguration of the Cavaillé-Coll-Mutin organ of Saint- Pierre-de-Montmarte Paris XVIII, restored by Laurent et Pierre-Adrien Plet. January, 25 Inauguration of a new organ at the Conservatoire Claude Debussy (XVIIème arrondissement), built by Pascal Quoirin.

2018

Novembre The pipes of the Cavaillé-Coll/Mutin/Plet organ of St Pierre de Montmartre have been put back into the organ case, including a new Bourdon 8 on the pedal. The inauguration and benediction will take place on April, 6-7, 2019. Starting at Christmas eve, this organ will take up his culutral role (info: Michel Boedec).

September, 21-23

Inauguration and benediction of the restored and enlarged organ of Notre-Dame d’Auteuil (Paris XVI) (Cavaillé-Coll, Gloton, 3 claviers, 56 jeux). Restoration carried out by Denis Lacorre. September The Gonzalez-organ of the Cathédrale Arménienne Saint-Jean-Baptiste is sold to the Cathédrale of Senlisse and replaced by an electronic apparatus. September, 16 Yves Fossaert installed a new motor on the choir organ of St-Bernard de la Chapelle. It now sounds again after two years of silence. August, 15 The organ of Saint Nicolas-des-Champs (Paris III) has become unplayable, as reported by one of its ‘organistes titulaires’, Vincent Genvrin. Spring Dargassies completed the restoration of the Cavaillé- Coll-Gonzalez organ of Notre-Dame-de-l'assomption (Paris I). May, 28 Quentin Guérillot (*1993) is the new ‘organiste titulaire’ of the Cathedral of Saint-Denis, as the successor of Pierre Pincemaille. He was already one of the choir organists at this prestigious Basilica. He studied organ, cembalo and basso-continuo at the conservatories of Mulhouse, Strasbourg and the ‘Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris’, as well as harmony, counterpoint and fuge. January, 30 Marc Cadiot, organiste titulaire of the choir organ of Saint-Sulpice, has been succeded by two successors: Ronan Chouinard (*1988) for the Sunday-morning masses and Louis Jullien (*1998) for most other masses. January, 12 The famous French organist Pierre Pincemaille died this morning. He was known in particular for his outstanding organ improvisations. He was born in Paris on December, 8, 1956 and graduated from the Paris Conservatory with five first prizes in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, organ and improvisation. His teachers were Henri Challan, Jean-Claude Raynaud, Marcel Bitsch and Rolande Falcinelli. He was ‘organiste titulaire’ of the magnificent Cavaillé-Coll organ in Saint-Denis since 1987.
